2014 Chamber Programs
Annual Awards Banquet - The 78th Annual Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet recognizing and celebrated the contributions of outstanding 2013 residents of Polk County, Thursday, January 30. 2014 at the Polk County Commerce Center. Many thanks to the Go-Texan Committee for catering the delicious dinner and to Sherry Baker, Interior/Exterior Designs for the wonderful decorations. Also, thanks to the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas for helping us give commemoration to the late Chief Oscala Clayton Sylestine and introducing Chief Colabe III Clem Sylestine and Chief Skalaaba Herbert Johnson, Sr.More Info...
Come Clean Lake Livingston - 2011 was the "first annual" community wide lake clean-up event, including Polk, Trinity and San Jacinto counties. The 2014 event was scheduled for May 17th. Many thanks to Lake Livingston State Park, Piney Woods Lakes Chapter Master Naturalist and Sponsors for supporting this event. Also, thanks to all the volunteers who helped.

Divas of Polk County - Annual women's event which benefits county-wide organizations that benefit "women and children in crisis" --- includes SAAFE House, Childrenz Haven and CASA in the Pines.More Info...
Luncheons with the Chamber
Quarterly Membership Luncheons with programs to update and inform the membership about products, services and activities in our community. This year the luncheons are scheduled for April 15th, July 15th and October 21st.
Corrigan & Onalaska area Chamber Meetings: These meetings were held at the Corrigan City hall and various restaurants in Onalaska. They are open to everyone. An opportunity to see what is needed in the Community and what is happening in Corrigan & Onalaska. Meetings will continue in 2014.
Corrigan meetings will be February 13th, May 14th, August 14th, & November 19th.
Onalaska meetings will be March 25th, June 17th, and September 16th.
Learning Lunch - These are educational opportunities geared towards improving your business. Different subjects are covered at each lunch, in a small group setting. If you would like to present or know a topic that is needed for the business community; contact the Chamber office. This is a great time to sponsor a lunch or send your employees for continuing education.More Info...
Women Interested in Networking Opportunities - Continuing in 2014 with Meeting every month---starting noon on February 12th.
Prize Patrol - Candy along with a survey card is delivered to Chamber Members to just to say "Thanks!" --- photo goes in the newsletter and a business card size ad goes in the newsletter if the survey card is returned.
Polk County Pumpkin Patch - Photo opportunity during the October Trade Days weekend.
Eco-Tourism - Encouraging businesses and promoting the area for bird watching, boating, canoeing, etc. Developed the following:

Birding maps for State of Texas - working to get lake Livingston included on Texas Parks and Wildlife birding maps.
Piney Wood Lakes Chapter of Texas Master Naturalist (including Polk, Tyler, and San Jacinto Co.)
Lake Livingston State Park - partner in joint effort to develop the State Park to its full potential. This will help increase sales tax revenue to the area.More Info...
